Simply Saturday: Blackberry Pie Bites

I started this recipe wanting to make these, that I found on the picky palate.
A Kiss in a pie crust....

Yes, they were good, but... I wanted to try something else.

Here is how you make them with the Hershey Kiss...

You just need:

Ready made pie crust

Hershey Kisses

Egg wash

Sugar for sprinkling


For the blackberry pie you need blackberries and chocolate chips.

Cut a circle or use a circular cookie cutter and place a Hershey Kiss in the middle.

Fold the crust in half and then press the sides together.

Brush with egg wash.

Sprinkle with sugar..... but then....

I got to thinking... what else could I put in these cute little pie pockets.

I had some double chocolate chips and blackberries..mmm... that sounds good.

so....

Put a chocolate chip in the crust circle.

then place a blackberry on top of the morsel and follow the folding step, egg wash and sugar sprinkle.

I did have to add some extra crust pieces to cover some cracks. 

The Hershey Kiss pies were yummy, but the chocolate chip blackberry pies were extra yummy.
